The Center for Desert Archaeology promotes stewardship of archaeological and historical resources in the American Southwest and Mexican Northwest through programs that combine active research, preservation efforts, and public outreach. We use the term "Preservation Archaeology" to describe this mission, explicitly acknowledging that the goal of all our work is to preserve threatened cultural resources throughout the Southwest.
